HPS Contractors is searching for experienced roofers to join its team to work on a number of construction projects currently being undertaken in and around Cairns.

Successful candidates will be experienced roofers who are comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, focussed on delivering quality work safely and efficiently. They will have access to reliable transport to and from work and hold a current driver’s licence. Successful applicants will report to the site supervisor.

• Work safely on roofs
• Working at Heights qualification
• Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding
• Operate elevated work platforms
• Read plans and calculate plumbing quantities
• Handle and store plumbing materials
• Use plumbing hand and power tools
• Carry out levelling
• Cut and join sheet metal
• Mark out materials
• Apply first aid in the workplace
• Flash penetrations through roofs and walls
• Select and install roof sheeting and wall cladding
• Receive roofing materials
• Fabricate and install roof drainage components
• Fabricate and install external flashings
• Install roof components
• Install composite roof systems
• Install roof coverings to curved roof structures
• Safety Training
• Own tools
• Reliable transport
